Racism in peruvian television: What messages do comedy programs transmit?  In this section we will talk about a post that caught our attention. We did a research and we found a very interesting thesis about Racism in Peruvian television, this post talks about people and organization television comedy programs in Peru and their racist content. This essay shows the difference between two television programs chosen by popularity. The results of this research impacted us a lot, the analysis they discovered were that those programs present subtle, denigrating and discriminatory racist content. These contents are presented without a significant difference between the two. Likewise, the predominant stereotypes refer to the physical, language and social class. In this podcast they compare racism with a virus, because it can lead in murder and one little thing can spread and impact so many people. Racism harm the mental health and well - being of people of color and can leads to depression, physical, academic and psychology damage that severely impacts them, specially to children in classrooms. Racism and discrimination create a mental health issue because it causes trauma and  mental illnesses that can be serious to your health, increasing your risk of depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, etc. This needs to be taken seriously because the problem is deeper than some may think. They also mention that, as person of color, you are more likely to experience poverty, unemployment, incarceration, or abuse. You don’t need to experience racism firsthand to feel traumatized, just watching news report of police brutality against black people (George Floyd' murder in 2021 it’s an example of police abuse). HOMOPHOBIA AND LGBTQ+ DISCRIMINATION

The definition of homophobia is fear, hatred, discomfort with, or mistrust of people who are lesbian, gay, or bisexual. Homophobia can take many different forms, including negative attitudes and beliefs, aversion (rejection), or prejudice against people belonging to the LGBTQ+ community. It is often based on irrational fear and misunderstanding. Some people's homophobia may stem from conservative religious beliefs. People can have homophobic beliefs if they were taught them by their parents and relatives. It is illegal to harass a person because of that person's sex. Harassment may include "sexual harassment" or unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical harassment of a sexual nature. Harassment does not have to be exclusively sexual in nature, but can also include offensive comments about a person's gender.
